I am buying an aluminum driveshaft. Ford Racing Aluminum Driveshaft
Do I need a safety loop? The site doesn't say if it is required or not.

You need a safety loop if you have slicks and wheel standing power. If your wheels spin, you probably don't.

I definately do not have wheel standing power, and I am not running slicks. Thanx for the info. I will go ahead and buy the driveshaft w/o the loop.

You dont need it unless your going to the track where they require that you have one.

Oh, thanx. I won't be on the track for at least another year. I will buy one before I take my car to the track just in case.

good to know about the safety loop

The only time you need a safety loop at the track is if you run slicks or DOT slicks, which at that point your also supposed to have extended wheel studs.

I wouldn't worry about it, but its your call if you want it now to have it for the safety aspect. Search for driveshafts that let go on cars, or even on youtube, it F's-things up.
