Default 2001 Mustang V6, help car running bad

i have a 2001 3.8 and a while back i removed the cats and put stright pipe and had no problems i then put a cai and no problems i put shorty headers a couple of days ago and now the car hesitates under acceleration does anybody know a fix for this. my thoughts were maybe getting a tuner cause it kinda feels like the air fuel ratio is off

You never mentioned if you have ever replaced your old Oxygen sensors!! If not, check your engine codes for O2, MAP or MAF!! I'm sure someone else here could add alot more to this list, but when you start changing air/fuel components you need to check to make sure your ECM (Emmissions Control Module) is reading every sensor at peak performance and trim!!
Hope this helps a little!!

did you keep your EGR? if not maybe you forgot to reattach it.. this would leave you with unmetered air going into your engine throwing off your a/f ratio

Changing to a replacement style shorty header should have no effect on the car.

What are they?

Like Markstang said, did you leave something unhooked? Is the check engine light on?

Little more info.
