Default 1985 Mustang GT Trans into a 2000 Mustang V6?

I have come across a "free" T-5 trans out of a 85GT w/a fresh rebuild, the manual in my "new to me" 2000 V6 is high mileage and alittle sloppy, can I get lucky & be able to swap them over?
thanks

My guess would be No, just b/c your going between a 302 V8 and a 3.8 V6, unless they make an adaptor plate. But what you could do is sell it to me since I need a transmission for my 84 GT.

That may be a option (selling it off) I'm hoping to be able to swap bellhousings but I can't find anything concrete either way.
