Default What size Cam should I go with?

So, I'm playing around with the idea of putting in a new performance cam for my ride.

The question is: What size/brand should I go with?

Would this be a right candidate?

COMP Cams: Xtreme Energy™, 259HR115 <br> Excellent Stock Replacement for Super Coupe, Strong Torque

What's the usual protocol with cam work? Is there any components that need or good idea to be swapped out during the process?

How did you guys approach this project?

Internal Hamster Chamber Block Powered by 6 Teddy Bear Hamsters. Stand alone Rat Wheel Spooled InterKoolaid Twin Turbo System. 2 X NOS Stickers that add 20WHP each. Dual Folger's Coffee Can Exhaust upgrade. Wal*Mart Spinner hubs.
Future Modifications: Direct Mentos Diet Coke Injection System. And some cheetos. (actually, the cheetos aren't for the car, they just sounded good.)

it is always a good idea to upgrade the springs and retainers (at the very least) whenever you upgrade the cam. you can contact any of the major cam companies directly(i know comp and lunati are excellent about this) and they can help you choose the best cam for what you want out of the car. ive done this several times and never been disappointed. with the vast options of cams these days, i personally will continue to rely on the people that know cams and deal with different applications all day long

There are many factors involved when spec'ing a cam. You can move the powerband up or down by changing the lobe, lift, and duration. If you are really serious about a cam, then call Tom Y and talk to him. But please, do not call him if you do not have the money in hand and are ready to purchase. He gets a million calls from people inquiring about a cam, spends an hour on the phone talking to him, then they hang up and never call back. Meanwhile, he has several phone messages from real customers.

Be prepared in order to make decent power you should change out the springs, pushrods, and rockers to be part of the game......
