Default Rear end from 04 Mach 1 fit on 2002 Mustang V6?

Would a rear end off of a Mach 1 fit on my 2002 V6?

Also, would the stock struts and shocks/brakes fit the V6 as well?

Is it a solid axle 8.8? If it is it should fit without too much modification assuming you have a 99-04 car to put it in. You'll have to play with the driveshaft flange yoke (maybe), but it should be ok otherwise.

Yeah, solid axle 8.8, off of a 04 Mach 1. It's definitely not a IRS project off of a Cobra, haha. It's for my 2002 V6.

It is a direct bolt in. However, you either have to use your stock brake calipers and disks, or switch over the calipers and disks to the Mach size....

all of that will fit (with the inclusion of what shiner said). the shocks and struts will make your car sit slightly higher since they weigh more. i'd get some lowering springs to go with it.

Spoke to the guy who's selling the rear axle to me.

It's a complete Mach 1 rear end with only 4400 miles on it. He's letting it go for around $800.

It comes stock with 3.55 gears.

I'm not much of a know it all guy when it comes to gears. Do I want to keep the 3.55's or upgrade them to 3.73? Will the 3.55 at least have a noticeable difference to my stock gears? I know I'll be pushing both wheels when pressing the gas now... But is it worth the swapping of the gears also?

I know I'll have to purchase a Speedcal or Tuner to fix the speedo.

What should I expect in installation price? Or what's the average cost to swap out the rear axle?

stock gears are 3.27 if i remember correctly so its still a bump.. if you have the cash to get it done then go ahead otherwise id be satisfied with just the rear as it is
