Default New Exhaust system for 95 v6 mustang?

Hi everyone I'm 17 years old a new to this forum. Last April i got 1995 V6 mustang and since then I've taken great pride in it. Recently, I've become very interested in aftermarket performance parts. I've already installed a cold air intake, but now i want to get a dual exhaust system as well. After talking to some friends and doing a lot of research online, i've only become more and more confused. From what i understand there are there different dual exhaust options: the Y, the X, and the H pipes. So far i have yet to get a straight forward answer as to which one will give me the best performance. Some say that the X or H pipes are only for the V8s and will cause considerable loss of torque in a V6. Others, say its a great idea because it will flow way better than the cat back Y pipe will and will provide much more horsepower. Overall what do you guys think?!

I have a 1997 V6 and I went with 2.5" X-Pipe and then Straight 2.5" duals out the back and some nice 3" tips

I have a video of the sound here:

It sounds real mean and it's very loud. You could put some Flowmaster Super 40's or Super 44's on it to quiet it down a little and get rid of that rpm dropping rasp sound thing.

But in my opinion the X-Pipe is the way to go. It lets the exhaust flow smoothly and the exhaust can exit faster with dual pipes witch means better flow and more HP

In my opinion, a catted H pipe and flowmaster 40's are the way to go (and mac longtubes if you can afford them). You can have a good exhaust shop make you an h pipe using your original cats for pretty cheap. I'm sorry, but I cannot grace you with an exhaust vid as I don't have a digital video camera and have yet to borrow a friends. I'd recommend that you find a vid of a similar set up on youtube and browse vids to find out what YOU like. It's all personal preference, you're the one who has to live with it every day. Someone above mentioned that an x-pipe is the way to go. Yes, you do get a few more horses from it, but it's minimal. I'd rather have the deeper tone of the H, but some people like the raspyness of the x, and again, it's all personal preference.
