I wouldn't... Why would he want a GT of any of the 94-98's? They are all slow as ****... lol I wouldn't even want a 99-04 GT... If it were a 96+ Cobra that would be a different story but those get a bit pricey. Just because a car has a V8 in it doesn't mean it is fast. lol I would much rather have my 98 V6 than a 98 V8.

I'm not sure how a v6 would consistently beat v8s. look at it this way. If you want to do some modifications to your car you can get it done for a hell of a lot less than a v6. the tranny and rears in the v6s were weak. Theres no replacement for displacement

Just to point out this is the V6 section and to my knowledge "bashing" isn't permitted. Considering you can make a 4 banger eclipse run a 6 second quarter mile, it doesn't really matter what you start with. Enough aspiration gets you the speed.

I'd advice keep looking, you can find a car with lower mileage. A lot of stuff can happen in that many miles. What is your budget? You can get a 01-04 V6 for about 9k and a GT for about 12k with around 50,000 miles. And for every 10,000 miles drop about 500 dollars from that. I wasn't a fan of the 94-99's so I don't know about they're prices so well. Heck, according to flipping KBB mine is worth 6500 and it's in perfect condition

a stock 96-98 GT is hardly anything to be proud of, they only make 25hp+ than the 99-04 3.8L's.

a GT is basically a V6 but with better sounding exhaust.
