Default v6 3.9l replacing gears?

i was thinkig about replacing the gears on my stang. right now i have a cia and a tuner in the mail but i was told a gear change would add alot of hp? i have a automatic so maby a 4:10? any thoughts? would it also add a noticible diffrence if i added a pully kit?

what are the effects of the gear change and how much am i looking? i saw on american muscle that the cost for the gears is like 160. so is it just that plus labor? also my car is a automatic? does it make a diffrence?

it dont add hp it feels like it it gets u in ur power band faster right now i think u got 3.55's stock so then u spin the tire and the drive shaft will spin 3.55 times and the tire does a full rev and with 4.10s drive shaft spns 4.1 times before tires spins once so its quicker just not giving hp

+1. I would go with 4.10's on a auto but know that your cruising rpms, say at 70mph, will be around 400rpms higher than normal. The pulley won't do much of anything. might add a few more ponies but nothing you'll feel.
You should also get a Tlock so both tires spin. Right now, you have a open differential and only one tire gets the power. Labor for the gear install can run 200-300 bucks or more, especially at a Ford Dealership. Call some of the local places and see how much they charge and see how many times they have done a gear swap. some shady mechanics out there. Good luck

so it will just feel faster and be faster off the line? but my over all top speed will not be affected? and if this does not add ponies to my stang thant what can i do to add some other than a exhaust cia and tuner? and obviously not pullys
