Default 2002 3.8 used engine swap advice

Well after getting the engine out. Checking out the crank, connecting rods, cam, lifters, push rods, etc...

Pricing machine work, gasket set, hard parts....

I am picking up a $475 used engine from a larger/well known salvage operation.

The engine is from a 2003 with 33k miles and has a 6 month warranty.

The Questions:
  • What kind of things should I do before/after the swap?
  • Should I clean the intake?
  • Should I replace anything on the engine?
Thanks to everyone that posted on "http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...cons/icon5.gif 2002 Mustang 3.8L Appears Seized - is this common?"

This is the next phase of the project.

Thanks in advance
