Hey everyone, ChiiLLL here. I am looking at a 2000 Ford Mustang v6 Automatic with 146000 Miles, See the thing is the dealer is selling it for 1900.00$ Now how can i be sure its not a piece of garbage lol. I dont wanna waste my money on a nice car if the inside is destroyed i mean over 100k miles ushally means bad i heard. Give me your thoughts thanks.
I would say ya what is your budget. I got my 00 for book value and it had 120xxx on it but i knew the people who had it last and they took very nice care of it.
idk, 146k and you have no idea what the owners were like when they owned it. i believe any car today will last with simple maintence. heck it could be one of thos poor car that never gets washed let alone waxed. you can be chasing problems forever. just save the extra 3g to get one with under 75k. lots of nice foxes out there for 3g

I know i should just wait and find the "right" one..but i just dont wanna wait and i can only spend up to like...3000.00 so i guess i wont ever find a mustang =(
i got a 94 for sale for 2 grand has a 89 ho motor in it it is carburated needs trans bolts motor mounts welded and exhaust ran the motor only has 20,000 on it theres one for what you wana spend oh ya
Well, make sure you get a carfax for one thing. Also, I found an article on autotrader of things to look for. I'm sure you could find it with some research. Someone here also mentioned that there are a lot of fox bodies out there for cheap. If you ever get into drag racing, you can build those things up cheap and easy. I went to an all ford drag racing event a few weeks back, first time to the track (it's over 3 hours away), and three fourths of the cars there were fox bodies.
theres lots of mustangs out there for under 3 grand. before i got mine i wanted anyone, problems or not, 2.3. 3.8, 5.0, 4.6 it didnt matter. i know how you feel right now. theres lots of 3.8s out there to get parts that break. even buying from a dealership for a 5grand mustang, you put most of the money down on it, payments will be like paying for full coverage. but youll have a sweet ride to get to and from work to pay for it.
i still actully want a 2.3 fox to put my 1999 way till i get out of school.

yea..... like i said, to put my 3.8 down and drive the 2.3 till after school. then the fox could become my project car..... for the strip or autocross. id love to really get into one of them but right now time is money
