Well, I have to replace the EGR valve anyway. It's what is running the codes for the engine light.

Yes, when I accelerate, just before it switches gears I suppose(it's hard for me to explain, I know nothing about cars, therefor I can't work with the terminology well). Say, when I'm sitting at a stop light, it's not as bad, but it does shake a bit. Then when I start going, it's like it just wants to give up.

most likely the egr valve is located on your throttle body. thats where the air intake goes to. there should be vacuum lines running to/from it. i have the same engine, i'd tell you exactly but its pouring rain here right now and i dont have an open garage at the moment. to know what it looks like just google 2000 v6 mustang egr valve u should get a picture. hope this helps.

Thanks.

And I lied. It vibrates at idle; not when I accelerate.

egr stuck open= rough idle or cuts off at idle and gets better with rpm/speed. an egr valve thats stuck closed will not cause an idle problem, however will throw a code for emissions if stuck closed.

It also said 'slow response in bank 1'. And they guy told me that had something to do with the valve.

who is this guy thats telling you all this? if hes a mechanic and cant tell you exactly whats going on then dont go back to them. to be honest im pretty useless without being in front of the car with my modus hooked up to it. its hard to diagnose over the internet.

if the egr is stuck closed, it isnt allowing innert gases to enter the combustion chamber, which causes high combustion temps as well as high emissions, this will wipe out an o2 sensor in a heart beat, if the mil, or check engine light starts blinking, do not drive the vehicle any further. but as stated earlier its nearly impossible to diagnose over the internet

also the not switching part means that your sensor isnt switching anymore, which basically means it isnt working anymore

I went to Advanced. I just found the paper he wrote it on.
*EGR valve insufficient
*Bank 2 lean
*Bank 2 sensor slow

That's the codes it's throwing.

1st thing,

scan the codes, as you told us, you are not familirize with mechanic terms, so with the codes you will learn what is the problem

by the way, your 3 problems, itīs not just the EGR VALVE

itīs DPFE sensor

EGR VALVE

the thing is, that if your bank 2 is running lean, maybe you have a manifold leak before de O2 (oxygen sensor), your car have 4 oxygen sensors

2 upstream (before catalyc converter 1 left and 1 right) and 2 downstream (after catalyc converter 1 left and 1 right)

the bank 2, itīs the drivers side bank.

if you need more info, contact me .

CHEERS!!!
