Default Ebrake wont work

my emergency brake does not work i tryed to use it and i very slowly can to a stop. Any ideas why it doesnt work?

How are you trying to use it? If your using it as a brake don't just yank it and expect to stop. It's an emergency brake. It overheats easily and doesn't work. So you pump it and it'd work better. Unless you are saying that you use your ebrake to park on hills in which case, maybe it needs to be professionally looked at.

no im saying i alomost hit a deer because i yanked the ebrake and expected to stop and it didnt lock up

It is NOT an emergency brake. It is a parking brake. It is meant to use for parking, not an emergency. IF anything, you are lucky it didn't lock and send you into a spin.

well i was on a straight stretch of road and my friend has lock up the parking park in his car going straight and his wheels locked and he skidded to a stop. i was just wondering if like maybe the cable might be bad or what

you may need to tighten the cable on it. but like everybody said you should not use it stop that dumb on so many levels it is used for parking, and i bet your friend has a ricer and thinks it is cool to lock up the back wheels while driving this is very hard on the brakes.

ok thanx. and yea my friend has a ford ranger thats all riced out haha. I was just surprised bc im used to front wheel drive drifting in the winter. thanks again
