Default CAI vs RAM Air Intake

Is this a RAM air or CAI?

It really is neither. A true CAI would put the filter in the finder well, but a true RAI would only have one bend at the throttle body. I suppose it is closer to a RAI. Neither one will really give you more power, but instead will give you more power at different RPM's.

i want my car lowered so im kinda scared of gettin a CAI because i dont want it sucking up water so i think i might get this instead...its K&N so its gotta b atleast decent

The cai and the K&N put the filter at the same height, so if the cai sucks up water, so will the K&N. The K&N will be good, but not really any better than the cai.

You could always just get the ram air. It's more money and you have to cut out the hood. not sure if it gives much for horse power.

I was told that the Ram Air would be more effective than a CAI at higher speeds. Reguardless, i have the K&N FIPK2 kit and it has been great. As for power the numbers are really small when you look at the bigger picture.

Dont see this intake being as good as a CAI. your paying more money just for the casing around the filter instead of putting it in the fender.. Instead of sucking air away from the motor your sucking air being heated by the motor. Might as well as stay stock and take out the snorkel.

would that Shaker hood work on the 04? since AM says only up to the 02...
