Default Shocks and struts for 1998 Mustang v6 convertible

Hi All,

Just purchased my first ever Mustang! It's a 1998, v6, convertible. The car is in mint condition but the upgrades have to come gradually. It has 81K and I would appreciate any recommendations for replacing the shocks/struts to improve the ride/handling. So far, plans include: headlight upgrade to halo's and CAI kit in addition to the shocks/struts.

Thanks for your help!

I'm not a huge fan of halos , most on here aren't, but like nay other appearance mod, if you like it, go for it. Your driving it. You might think about lowering it a little if your lookin for a little improved handling. As far as shocks and struts, tokico HP's or some slightly used oem ones of a Mach (same spec as tokico HP's) run relatively cheap and I like how mine feel.

Oh, and welcome!

rfc,

Geez, I thought no one was going to reply to that post! So,thanks for the reply and the advice. I'll reconsider the halo's, but I should ask why they are not well received? Which h/l's would you recommend?

If I'm going to lower it, then I probably need some springs too?
I've owned several trans am's and camaro's over the years, but I'm really liking this Mustang. Would you suggest new bushing for the suspension as well?

Thanks again,
PonyUp

hey!
nice to see someone in ft myers here.

here's a link to a good cai, this is what a lot of us (including myself) our running on our cars:
1994-1998 V6 Mustang 3.8L Cold Air Intake Kit at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

as for the projectors, they borderline the edge of "ricey" taste, in some people opinions. but again, it's your opinion that matters.

and some polyurethane bushings will help stiffen up the suspension a little.
