Exclamation 2002 Mustang shuts off in middle of on ramp...

I was driving and all of sudden my car started to lose power. As I down shifted, it gain power and lost power. It did this over and over until it just gave out on me.

I have 91000+ miles; it has a new tune-up with new wires, plugs and coil pack. It has a month old battery and I due routine maintenance on her.

If anyone knows what could be the problem, please respond. She is my only transportation and I need to get her up and running as soon as possible without having to put her in the shop and shell out money I can't afford right now. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like it could have been your fuel pump about to crap out, to the point that it did. Can you hear it kick on when you turn the ignition to the on position?

Nope....I dont hear a noise. I am in the process of removing the line from the tank to the fuel filter to check if gas will pump up when i turn key.

My assumption is that the fliter is backed up and the gas cant get through and the pump has pump enough to the point of not coming on.

But, then again....I'm no fuel pump expert....so I am open to all the advice I can get.

same happened to me a while ago and it was the fuel pump since your saying that u cant hear the pump starting check for any bad fuse and if not u could get a brand new one at any autozone store for like 100-120 this woyuld bring everything youll need bucks now if u decide to do it yourself like i did is not that hard u need to buy a special tool that is used to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter this would be a good time to replace the filter if you concider is neccessary, the rest is nothing. btw ill be even better for you if u have skinny hands cuz there is a lil screw on the fuel pump cver that goes a lil be to much inside the fuel tank and is really a pain iin the A** to get it out if u need more help let me know

If you have a check engine light, you should pull the codes. You don't need to pull the fuel line to see if there is fuel, just push down on the valve with a small screwdriver with an old rag wrapped around it so gas doesn't spray out. Wear safety glasses.

Also, there is a fuel pump relay reset switch in your trunk. Its on the left side, just pull back the intreior and you should be able toreset it. Maybe this will work
