Default Transmission Fluid Leak

I changed my transmission fluid yesterday on my 1995 V6 Automatic. Everything seemed to go fine and the car ran very smoothly. However, when I looked under my car this morning before going to school, I noticed a large puddle under my car where some of the new fluid leaked out. What could be the problem? Is it simply a matter of not tightening the bolds enough or is it something more serious.

did you install the new gasket and torqued the bolts down. Should have gone in a criss cross pattern. Ususally i would put the bolts in, hand tight all the way around. Then tighten them down jumping around to different bolts. just to make sure it's flush.

I did everything by hand and I think I simply didn't tighten them enough. (I'm going to check all the bolts today.) But I also think that maybe the problem could be that I added too much. Could that be a possible cause as well?

Which gasket did you get for the pan? The rubber ones will squish when torquing the bolts, and cause it to leak. If you torque either one down too much, they will leak......

It was the rubber ones. But i discovered the real problem.. I striped the holes the bolts screw into. I honestly didn't realize it at the time but after looking at it today thats clearly what the problem is. A friend and I tried to cut a larger the holes larger for a to fit a larger diameter bolt but that only made the problem worse. So I ended up taking it to a dealership. I can't believe a task that seemed so simple would turn out so bad for me.
