why isnt my mustang loud??mufflers? cat or cattless and headers?
so i curently have a 2004 mustang with a catback exhaust(flowmaster 40's) and a custom h pipe. my question is why is my car not loud and what would make it louder? im ordering a cia tomorrow morning and i hear that will make it sound better adn louder while adding hp? what about headers? will adding shorty headers increase my sound and hp? or is it a wast of money? also i herd u can chop off ur cats and replace it wiht it wiht strait tube? would theese be the ones under the car at the positioin of the doors? what are the efffects of this and any gain in hp?
thanks so much'

i guess u could say my car bumps.
i did headers and h pipe on my 5.0 and it stayed quiet till i took off the stock mufflers and it was loud.
my old 94 v6 i did high flow cats and mac mufflers and it was loud but very quiet at idle.

if u have emisions dont chop um off go get another custome one just tell um no cats but if u dont have emisions ya tell um to cut em out a buddy paid 40$ to do his here what size pipeing do u have? and headers will make it sound bedder i dont know what the v6's stock manifolds look like but my 8 is way restircted mine got louder and cleaner sounding but i put l/t's.. good luck and with no cats u will lose low end tq due to back pressure and ive hurd the 6's have 6 cats so when u get um sell um i sold my 4 for 350$
ur car is going to be pretty quiet at idle anyway not a whole lot is goin on when ur just idling... getting rid of the cats is risky business.. ull end up with alot of rasp without them... loudness isnt everything.. u may get it louder but it might sound kinda crappy..
my friend got long tube headers for his car. That deff made it louder. I would say go for that

When you own a V6 stang 3.8, 3.9, or 4.2 stroker, You're part of something different. You don't rely on a V8 to do your driving. Instead you learn the V6. You tune and tweak until you see GT's falling behind you. Then when they ask "Is that a V8?" You simply respond with a rev that clearly states "I'm a V6" with a proud smile on your face. As your girlfriend sitting on the seat next to you calls you an idiot.
Get longtube headers over shorties. You will see no gains with a shorty as they are pretty much identical to the stock ones.
Taking off the cats and mufflers is going to make you lose a lot of back pressure. Without that back pressure expect to lose torque.
If you want louder get some longtube headers, a custom midpipe with high-flow cats, and mufflers like; Super 44's, SLPs, Cherrybomb, etc.

just put in an electric cutout or manual cutout, and its going to sound great,im going to do that today on mine...and of course dont expect a v8 sound but with the cutout its going to sound strong.ivd heared my car with out the muffler and wow it sounds great so that is why im doing the cutout..gl
