i bought a spec stage one for my 2000 3.8. my girlfriends dad and i put it in with no problems. but now when i start off in first gear i get chatter and shaking. i was wondering if thats just normal breakin (just hit 1k on the new clutch) or is somthing wrong. thanks
did u clean the pressure plate and the flywheel with brake parts cleaner before you installed? use blue loctite make sure bolts wont back out? torque them down right? bolts are one time use only!

no, that's definitely not normal, mine doesnt do that.
it sounds to me like you didnt do anything with the flywheel...?
if you didnt clean all the grease & dirt off the new/resurfaced flywheel, it'd have been burned off by now...and loose/improperly torqued pressure plate bolts would probably give you a harmonic vibration.
i brought my flywheel to the shop and they said it was fine and i didnt need it resurfaced. we cleaned it with break cleaner and tightened all the bolts to the right torque from a ford manual......
i played with my clutch ajuster i bought from stack racing and it sortof went away but still when i back up the car will shake a little and the stick moves a little
