Default Transmission and motor oil change

Hi!

I need to change oil in motor of my stang from 2001, but I can`t get a 5w-20 oil.
So have anybody idea if I can use 10W-20 or 5W-40 oil?

And second I think it would be good to change oil in transmission but I don`t have a clue with what kinde of oil should I change it.

Please have on your mindes that I`m in Europe and we don`t have same oils that are in USA. But any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Try to find 5W30 or the 5W 40 I guess.

The tranny should have Mercon V automatic fluid in it.

You should use the oil that the motor is designed for. Maybe you can order it or call around. What oil has it had in it so far?

Ford recommends 5W20 because it flows better when the engine is cold. Higher grades will be fine, especially if the ambient temperature is always above freezing. 5W30 is a very acceptable replacement for 5W20 and if the warranty is up then there really is nothing to worry about.

Hello again.

Now I decided I will go with 10-40 for motor and 80-90 for gearbox.
Now can anybody tell me how much liters do I need for change in motor and how much for transsmision.

Thanks

well since 5 quarts of motor oil does it for me.. that would be... about 4.75 liters.. so if you get about 5 liters you will have more than enough.. i am unsure about the gearbox though
