Default Removing shift bezel ring

Hi I'm trying to remove the shift bezel/area so I can pull off the dash around my stereo and put in a new stereo. I've looked and found lots of guides on how to do it but I have a question about taking that area around the shifter off. I've tried to pull it off but it seems to be resisting around the shifter's base. I have a bullitt shift bezel on there and I'm wondering if anyone knows if I have to take that off and how to do that. Is it just allen key screws? It seems like that's what is holding the shifter area on but I want to make sure. The part holding it on is this Bullitt Style Shifter Bezel - Manual (94-04) at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!

Squeeze at the top and pull it out. It can be a little bit of a pain, but that's how you do it.

I got it off after a while, was just nervous about giving plastic parts too much force :|
