Default 2002 Engine Swap Complete !! - what next?

I have successfully completed a used engine swap on my '02.

Thanks to LKQ - Bellville MI for a good value on the new/used engine. They sold me a 33K mile engine from an '03 with a 6 mo. warranty for $475 with no core charge.

Moved the wiring harness over from the original engine primarily due to a difference on the EGR sensor. The replacement engine had a broken sensor and the connectors was different.

Also moved all of the injectors from my original engine when I couldn't get the engine to fire without brake cleaner sprayed into the intake.

Drove to work 3 days this week and all seems good.

The question: What to do with the old engine and parts. Is there anything that would be worth posting here or on eBay? Should I just take everything to the local metal recycling center?

Thoughts?

You could try to sell the parts on Ebay. Heads, intakes, oilpan, etc. The block is really of no use to anyone because it would have to be shipped on a pallet. That can get expensive.....

you could practice porting and polishing everything and then do it to the ones on your engine now

Interesting idea on the port/polish.... hadn't thought of that, but it sounds fun....

As for parts to sell on ebay, shinerstang - you suggested the oil pan, and if I keep the heads and intake to practice polishing... what else might someone want?
  • Wiring harness
  • Pistons and rods (#3 spun)
  • Crank
  • Others???
