2000 3.8l manual tranny. t40d.

i made a very interesting discovery.

my original tranny had a problem so i bought (what was said to be a v6 tranny) a gt tranny
i knew the bell housing wouldnt match up to the 3.8 so i thought i was out 700 bucks.

as i sat there pondering the situation i noticed the gear boxes were almost identical.

then it hit me. swap the bell housings! and holy **** it worked. haha.

so this leads me to my question.

can you swap any tremec 6spds gear box to the 3.8 bellhousing? cuz it looks like all the 5spds are interchangeable.

please respond cuz i'm frikkin pumped lol.

Even if it does work the price of a 6 spd will "depump" you, also behind a stock v6 it would be a total waste of money.

6spds arent that expensive. i mean...if 1000 dollars is expensive to you... which if i sell my gears i just bought thats only 300 bucks more for me

and why waste? its deff not stock. and think of the over drive gear u could put in that tranny???? and how bad ass of gas mileage u'd get. u could have a 11 second car and still get 36mpg highway.

sounds worth it to me.
