changing plugs is simple...should take you a half hour or so.
the passenger side plugs are a little tougher because there's less space, and you'll need to remove the CAI to access them.
other than that, a 3/8" ratchet, extension, swivel, and a 5/8" deepwell socket or 5/8" sparkplug socket , some anti-sieze and dielectric grease will be all you need.
as for improving the life of the car, try running full snythetic oil, (if you don't already), and seafoaming the car ever once in a while.
