Default SCT tuner for 1995 V6 Mustang

Within the next month or two I'll be getting ASP underdrive pulleys, and a true custom dual exhaust- all in addition to a CAI I already installed. So anyway, from what I understand, getting your car tuned after doing such mods as these will really help. I know it will be a while, but I plan on buying an SCT chip that American Muscle sells(the one that holds 4 custom tunes). However, I am a bit confused as to how this thing works. Do I simple plug it in and drive, or do I have to have somebody professionally tune it for me? If so, how much would this all cost?

i think that if you go with a tuner with an email tune you just need to load the tune onto the device and plug it into the car and follow the setps. it would be more effective if you went to a shop and had them dyno tune your car.

Why not just get a tuner? I don't believe in just chipping a car. It is too one dimensional. All the 94+ V6's are OBD2......

hi, i'm new to this forum. from what i understand if you give all the info regarding your mustang (e.g modifications) when you buy your chip you will receive a custom tune unique to your car, as well as another 4 tunes. check out the homepage on 'americanmuscle.com'. there is a blog: 'how do i add more horsepower to my v6 mustang'. click on the highlighted words 'tuner tech article'. hope this helps.
