2003 Mustang Seat Belt Jammed/Stuck

Hello, my 03 V6 passenger side seat belt is stuck and wont take in or release the belt... Im not sure, think the mechanism or gear inside may be jammed. Every time I try to pull it, there's a clicking sound, like contact. Anyone know how I can fix this? Any help would be much appreciated, thank you

Fixed the seat belt today! If anyone else has this issue, a possible fix(worked for me) is take apart the interior plastic panels and readjust/reset the seat belt retractor by tugging on it outwards, then pushing it further(in the direction of retraction) by hand. The belt goes all the way in(fully retracts), and should be able to be used again I pushed on the rolled portion of the belt that was on the retractor and the belt slowly returned to it's unused position. Just pushing it in without the plastic panels removed and the seat belt machanism exposed and reachable didnt help. Problem: Seat belt was twisted inside and the locking mechanism was constantly engaged(stuck)

I pried mine off but didn't actually take them all the way out because then they would have cracked or got bent. The top one won't come off without using a large Torx tip but you should be able to get to them by just pulling the upper part up and sliding the lower one underneath. Good luck!

stuck with a bad s-belt

I hate to hear this, this is the same problem my 03 had when I first got mine. I was lucky enough that I was able to get the dealer to replace the retractor unit. I don't know if this is a common problem since the drivers side is starting to stick.

I want to thank the original Poster when he figured out how to fix it

in my case i did have to remove the back seat but that is a cinch
to do but mine was twisted s well and i was able to pull the plastic
