Default 1994 Mustang v6 red hot catalytic converter

new here and trying to get some info. I just traded for a 94' v6 and it runs real rough,the guy said that the cat. was glowing red and said he thought it was the cat. opinions? sounds like the timing is off,any ideas?thanks,jim

wow... a glowing converter? I'll stay tuned on this thread to find out whats going on... I'd say it's safe to say it is plugged/damaged and all the back pressure is at the converter causing it to get that hot...

Check the firing order.... my "mechanic" put mine on backwards and it ended up causing my pass. side cat to "glow"

Which would certainly explain the rough running situation as well.
No check engine light indicated? Make sure it at least comes on before startup.
