2000 3.8 Mustang V6 Secondary injector air pump Question??

I have a friend who has a 2000 3.8 v6 ...the check engine light is on and he was told its the secondary injection air pump???? I dont know these cars so is this true did anyone ever have to replace one?...How much do they go for?....I think he got a price of $250.00 does this sound right or is that a high price...thanks for any help...

I've heard of some of the New Edge's having them: California-emissions spec ones or something. "232-K7" mentioned on another thread that it's in the passenger side fender -- is that right, man?
Also, "Redlyr" might know since he had to find his or prove that it came without -- something with the emissions inspection guy being an idiot.
