Hey everyone! I've got a 2000 V-6; I'm having an issue and hope that my fellow Mustang folk can help me out. My car's been broken in to a few times within the last year, stealing my radio - 3 times in just under 1 year. So, I figured I really should install an alarm. I have one, but I need to access and remove/disable the factory Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) but cannot locate it. I've been told to check the trunk - I only see something for the fuel and the inertia(?) switch; under the glove box - but nothing; and under the steering wheel near the fuses - nothing. I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for. So, hopefully someone can help me here. Where would the PATS be located, and how can I install/disable it?

It's a 2000 V6 Mustang. If someone has pictures that can help me ID it, that would be great too.

you cant disable it.. theres nothing to remove , its programmed into the computer you'd need a dealer to disable it with some software

Thanks for the reply! So, if I want to install a new alarm, do I need to do anything with the keyless entry? Are you able to have two keyless entries, alarm plus stock?

im not an expert, nor do i have experience in having alarms on mustangs, but i believe they tend to coexist.. you'll have the pats and the aftermarket alarm working on top of eachother
