yeah that's because a lot v6 dont do the H or X pipe conversions, I knew a guy with a 2003 v6 with adapted dual exhaust and magnaflows.... and I couldnt even hear him when my car was on even when he moved. :\

SpinTechs make the most power but they are VERY expensive, and they used to be aluminized, I'm still waiting to hear if they're stainless.

The Spintech system uses a Dr. Gas x-pipe with high flow cats, and side exhaust.

Spintechs generallly net 5 or so more hp than the rest of the systems which generally will get you 8-10 hp net.

Sound quality is totally objective. I can't say which one will sound better than another to you, but everyone seems to argue about which is the best.

Best quality are the bassani, flowmaster, and magnaflows. the rest are aluminized.

I won't spend the kind of money Spintech is asking for when I'll have to replace the whole thing in a couple of years . . .

Keep in mind it is a six, and it's impossible to make it sound like a 8. That said, the sound comes from several different parameters from the size of the pipes, the style of muffler, and even the cylinder design. -Stroking to a 4.2 or 4.6 will give you a totally different sound with the same muffler system.

Powertrain engineers spent ALOT of time trying to get the 4.6 DOHC to sound like a 5.0 OHV. It's a black art, man . . .

So is dual exhaust the better way to go if you want your stang to sound like a beast? I had an older probe with a 3.0 v6 that i put a big 2 1/2 cat back system on it and it was too damn loud. I want my stang to have a nice hum, but not so loud that I can't hear what im thinking or listening to. Sounds like the X pipe might be what id want?

Any one of the systems will give you "better" sound. Just changing the OEM muffler will give you better sound . . . but the firing order is such that a dual or quasi-dual exhaust will sound healthier than straight pipes or single exhaust . ..

If you review the archives, there's a link to audio samples of various systems . . . ofcourse, the quality of your speakers will influence how each system sounds . ..

Hey if you guys want SpinTecs Call Tom & Gigs and ask for Tim or Josh, tell them Dyno Dan sent you and they will give you a great deal on spin Mufflers or any other muffler you wnat for that matter.1-541-888-4660
