what year is your steed and condition it's in?

Good brands are ATI Procharger
or Vortech

It's a 1999 V6. It's in very good condition. It has some miles on it though...a little over 75,000.

I'd go with the ATI, but the 7-9 lbs of boost.

I don't know if I'd chance the 11psi Tuner . ..

To supercharge a V6, do you just put the suercharger in, or are there other mods you have to do to feel the full power of the SC?

piping intercooler tuning dyno etc... Might want to upgarde the internals as well. forge the pistons stronger rods etc. so you can run some good boost.

But SC isn't always the best way to go, with an SC you dont really want to be in low rpms you always kind of want to be banging them up there so a high gear ratio rear end would be in order so you shift quick to the top gears.

a Turbo on the other hand is good all around cept it doesn't make direct power you need it to spool up and there are not too many made for mustangs.

Would a Turbo on an Auto Transmission do any good?

Auto trans you can put a 4.10 gear ratio comfortably, as for me I would just stick with the SC, it's more for our car.

i prefer turbo over super....it's more efficient...and they do make them for the '99+ but can be adapted to the '98-. that **** get's expensive thought, you have to upgrade the entire intake, exhaust and fuel delivery system and ecu.

My procharger came with everything I needed except injectors, spark plugs, and gauges... I would highly recommend getting a dyno tune after you install the blower. My out of box tune was a deadly combination for my car. If I ran it anymore then I did, I would have blown the motor. Their tunes aren't made for California gas. They gave it too much timing, and not enough fuel. But just to be safe, I would get a dyno tune anyways.

to run 7-9 psi you dont need much of anything other than a GOOD TUNE and possibly a new maf for easier tunning once you start to go over 9 or at 9 you will be nearing the end of your stock injectors/fuel pumps limits so you will need to upgrade the injectors, fuel pump, and calibrate the maf for the new injectors/buy a new maf already calibrated. regardless of what psi you run you MUST HAVE A DYNO TUNE the chip that comes with the kit is POS..... get a REAL tune from fordchip.com or sct (justin on v6power.net), alberto whoever just go to someone reliable that is well recommended and knows v6 mustangs.

with high miles you really raelly should keep it tuned, its not psi that really kills a motor its the tune... 5psi on a horrible tune can do tons of damage where 10 psi on a good tune will be reliable.

ati is the best kit out it comes with a nice intercooler also, vortech does not have an intercooler so remember that in pricing the kits, an intercooler is rather expensive 500~ bucks or so.

many people consider turbo "black magic" because they usually have never installed one or seen how they work.

They are more effiecient than superchargers, and CAN be just as reliable. depends on your installer and how good he is. They dont wear down an engine any faster either. just look at the audi TT or any other turbo'd car. people just get superchargers because they are usually cheaper, easier to install (dont have to tap into exhaust) and are more common among mustangs. kind of a monkey see monkey do type of thing. When i get my cobra, im probably gonna turbocharge, unless funds run short.

hope this clears the myths up. also muscle mustangs and fast fords magazine just did a nice article about turbocharging if your interested. just head down to barnes and noble and read up on whatever i missed.

How exacly do you tap the exhaust??? Do you just have to hook a tube up to the ass end of the heads and bring it forward or do you take the heads off and put something else on?
