Ford Uses an AODE now, AODs stopped in like 93 I think.

does the clutch kit come with a flywheel? and how about the pedal assembly? the ecu? the radiator?

As stated earlier these are all parts you and pick and find for cheap. They are out there trust me. Yes it's easier to replace the automatic but while you are paying that much... why not throw in a 5 speed?

THat's right. WHy not pick up a 5 speed. Its not like im doing the work, i'm just gonna pay someone else. and beside, on supersix.com website, they have a "how to" on a tranny swap. Right now, its food for thought.

lol a T-56 is not for drag or straight line performance its more for autocross and unless you are hard core autox its a total waste.... it would be great if it was a viper spec 6 speed..... and why is so you could hav ea .50 6th and have amazing gas milage.

its alot of work to swap over..... dont do it.... just buy another car.

AODE= aod tranny, that has computer controlled shift points. 5sp manual trannys are much smaller than AOD's , AODE's and so on.
If you planned on paying someone to do the swap, you are probably right, its not worth it for you. But you should know, once you take on a job like that, finnish it,the satasfaction of speed shifting and barking the tires into third, will be so much sweeter.

I think the best idea would be to sell your car now and you should be able to buy a 5-speed version for the same price as what you sold yours for, if not even a little bit less since automatics normally cost a little more. Even though they aren't as fun. That way, all the money you would put into swapping the transmission can be applied towards modding your new ride, with the kinda money you'd be spending you could probably get a supercharger.

ok let's do this, add up the REAL total cost of a trans swap. and compare it to the cost of another manual mustang of the same year and condition after you sell yours.
