Default exhaust/tints, first mods... have a question

Bought the gold Mustang a few days and couldn't be more hapy with it!

I'm soon to get exhaust and tints.

20% ... is that a good number?
Flowmaster dual exhaust... will it sound loud/good?

..Came home from school today and my dad informed me had got quotes on the things above. Can't argue if he's going to do it for me, now I'm just curious what I'm getting

CONGRATS ON THE BUY! That must be awesome, now go paint it red Nice red stang.

Flowmaster (What I use) Are the best way to go for loud and are very reliable.

They and liek all other exhaust needs to break in,so it loud and whiney at first , still nice, Mine is finally broken in and I sound very deep and rumbly and lil taps of gas or just going up to 3500 rpms I sound pretty damn mean.

So yeah they are good as hell. I would do an H pipe though. 190 hp is enough for an H pipe IMO

havn't done tints so I dunno. you'll get some reply to that.

Good luck with the stang man!

well, i am not sure what the V6's have on them, but an H-pipe is the tubing between the headers and the mufflers. my H-Pipe is "off road", meaning it has no Cats (catilitic converters). they also have X-pipes but to me it is the same thing just more expensive. Oh, and get duel exaust PLEASE!!! you will love it SOOOO much more.

I am happy to hear that you went with the Mustang. You are going to have SOOO much fun with Her!!!!!!!

I just had mine tinted 35% (NC Law) last Friday. I'm not sure exactly how the tint numbers work but I think that the lower the number the darker the tint. 35% is not too dark- you can't see in from the outside at night but you can during the day. It looks pretty similar to some dark factory tint I have seen in some of the newer SUVs. I'll see if I can get some pics taken this weekend and I'll post them in my gallery. The current pic in there shows my car before the tint so you will have something to compare it to.

The 1st question is "what do you want?"

Exhaust has a lower bang for the buck than intake and pulley modifications. More expensive, too. If you want "the look" then go for it.

If you want performance, there's another route . ..

Hey Beyond, I put 35 up front and 20% rear on my car. For VA it is illegal, so you can look in my gallery to see the difference. I believe it is in there, if not go to my Cardomain website in my signature, I know I have it there.
Since I have a grey interior I can get away with a little darker tint. 20% is considered limo tint.

As for exhaust, it is up to you. I would go with the recommendation to have a Y-pipe installed and Dual exhaust.
Look in the Tech galleries here, for all the exhaust options!!!

I had my windows tinted at 20% which was illegal here too, the guys who did it didnt give me a reciept so that if I got pulled over for it, the cops couldnt trace it back to the tint place. I have tan interior and with 20% you can see in my windows just fine, I wish I would have gone 15% though. I dont know what interior your car has, if it is black then go with 20%.

Basically the reason why it is illegal past 35% is because the cop has to beable to see your silhouette, if they cant, then it is dangerous for a cop to walk up to your car incase if you have a shotgun waiting for him. The guys who tinted my windows told me to just turn on the dome light if I get pulled over because it is harder for them to tell what % it is and also so that they can see me and what I am doing.

Hope this helps you decide what % you will go with
