Has anyone modified a stock 2001 V6 rear bumper cover to accomodate dual exhaust? It would seem you could cut out two half moons and get the same effect as a GT rear bumper cover. How did you do it?
not sure if that will ruin your bumper or not.....they arent designed to be cut into. And it might look tacky. I would just recommend finding a good gt bumper from a junkyard. You can usually find them pretty cheap.
anything thats worth doin is worth doin right.

thats a pretty good deal stangcrazy. WCC i would think saving up the 260 bucks and doing the install yourself will be MUCH more elegant than the cut two half circles plan.

i have seen a lot of V6s mustangs with dual exaust, and all of them seem to be fine. they seem to fit more like the Foxbody LX's would just under the bumper but not touching. anyways, i like it more like that.

i would stick with the stock 6cyl. bumper. the exhaust will fit under the bumper without touching. in fact, theres a mineral grey GT in MM&FF or 5.0 magazine that has a 6 cyl. bumper on the back. it will definitely fit. besides, do you really like the looks of those 99-04 GT rear bumpers? me neither.

you're right, they will fit fine...but i still prefer the gt bumper.
for those interested in doing that mod, that is a very good, informative thread.
