Can anyone help? The battery on my '00 was disconnected when a guy installed a new immobilizer. Ever since, the service engine soon light has been on.
I am in the uk and garages do not have the Ford USA diagnostic software. Any idea how I can turn it off?

did you try disconnecting the batteries completely for 20 minutes. i did it on my '94 and it turned the cel off after i fixed the problem. maybe it will work on the 99+ or maybe you have an active fault code. what exacly did they do to your car?

just curious; why would a ford dealership not have the right tools? i guess thats's ford's idea of quality service.

Disconnect the battery for mabye 15 min. the cars computer will reset itself and the light should go out, if it does'nt have your car checked , the guy may have hooked something up wrong...

that will reset the ECU but, it's only a matter of like 3 ignitions starts or time before that light comes back on if there is a problem.

usually aren't ford mustangs sold in other countries. so they dont carry the tools.

You can buy a system scanner, any autosones in UK?

Passive anti theft system. Kills the electrics so the car cannot start, even by hotwiring.
