If I want to chirp the tires should I shift like that or get a shift kit?
also, are all shift kits basically the same or if there is one that is better than the rest. I called a few shops, and the best price I came out with was $250. Is this a good price for the kit and the install? |
yeah, you can really mess up the
tranny that way.
It's not designed to run with you manually shifting, and you can trap fluid in the
tranny, requiring a full rebuild.
the computer will shift it faster than you can manually, in any case.
I could manually shift the c6 in my 68, with no problems, and I could shift faster than the mechanical shifter in the old transmissions, you definitely cannot do this in the AOD or AODEs.
