m112 supercharger for my 1998 3.8l mustang

Hi guys
I downgraded from my 85 gt to the 98 lossing a ton of power thinking of putting the m112 supercharger from the cobra on just looking for some advice as of gears, pistons, stuff i would need to change,Is there a web site i can buy most of the stuff including the supercharger? I know that supersix motor sports has the plate i need for 900 bucks.Would it be better to get the motor bored and homed first adding alot more power?Kinda new to all these mods sorry if i sound like a joke just looking for some real advise. thanks

How about you google the basic stuff needed to supercharge a car, fuel, suspension, forged...then start asking questions..we can really do much till you tell us what your plans are..

boring the motor will gain you.. what.. 0.2 liters.. hardly 'alot more power' can come from that. hate to say it, but if you're wanting to go fast.. the 98 3.8 v6 is one of the worst starting platforms.

2003 3.8L V6 4R70W
Windstar Upper Intake with cool-air intake, MAC LT headers, BBK O/R H-pipe, and flow 40s, SCT tuner, FRPP Alum. D/S, 3.73 gears, Auburn HP limited slip, and Team Z LCAs, Eibach sway bars.
Best 1/4 time: 15.036 @90.92mph, 2.148 60'

if you really want to supercharge it get a kit, the M112 swap is a headache! You would need to do fuel injectors, as well as suspension, air intake, and a tune, plus exhaust.

2003 Redfire V6,
Show: Smoked everything, cobra front bumper, gt rear bumper, rear decklid and lower valence blackout with black mustang letters, 5% rear front 15%, black 98 Cobra rims front, 95 Cobra R rear black with chrome lip, black scoops and spoiler and exhaust tips

Go: CAI, True Duals with flowmaster super 44's, Bama Tune, full suspension (lowered, 8.8, 4.10s, UCA, LCA, springs, CC plates)

not including..

fuel pumps
guages
forged rods
forged pistons
forged links
bearings, gaskets
all needed lines
throttle cables

its not worth it..hes looking at upwards of 10K for this to "show up some civics"

if thats what your into you should have gotten a GT.

Sell that turd and get a V8

An M112 will not fit a single port. You will need to do a split port swap as well for the SSM adapter to work.

The mod list is about as long as my arm just to get that M112 hooked up. I'm not counting the internals and drivetrain mods to allow you to crank up the boost to a level where you would get more power than a stock GT.

Don't forget that you can't intercool an M112 so you would need to run water-meth injection to keep the intake temps under control. They don't have the nick-name "Heatons" for no reason.

The fail in post response here amazes me ...

OP.

V8 is your best option hands down.
To do a m112, you'll have to upgrade to a split port. Which will also require that you swap then fuel system.

Forged internals are NOT "required" to run FI. Especially to beat a stock GT unless your speaking a new 5.0. Even then the stock internals on a proper tune can handle 350ish rwhp ...

OP if you want to go SC on this car. Look into an M90 swap w/ a super coupe motor.

Otherwise a Turbo will be your smartest choice for power.
Btw, to those unknowing, a single port turbo V6 I believe still holds the 1/4 mile V6 record. Oviously built motor on high psi etc etc so dont think Im saying you'll get close to him on a stock motor.

But honestly in the end, unless your just dead set on having a "built" V6, and have the money to do so, then find a nice V8 of some sort.

227whp N/A V6
1/8th mile 8's !

AAre you joking me? 350 wrhp? The new 5.0s put down about 370 hp stock, and mmr sells there rods in a rotating assemlby as base option. The stock 5.0 rods are rated up to 500hp...
