Default check engine light

Hi all,
As mentionned before, just imported a 2000 V6 Mustang but I've not yet an owner's manual to know what means some bips when I turn the ignition switch on.
I can't see any "check engine" light, only "Engine service soon", brakes, battery and so on lights. I wonder if the check engine light is ok. Anyone can tell me what is the shape of this light? (Letters or icon?) Thanks.

They're all at the bottom of the cluster. If you shine a flashlight in the cluster, you'll see them.

It's not something I would worry about . .. They VERY RARELY fail.

Thanks for the reply. I thought that the check engine light goes on when I turn the ignition switch on like all other lights (I suspected that the previous owner had perhaps disconnect the check engine light...)

That would take a LOT of work, and I'm not sure it's still possible to do . . .

If it's running ok, I wouldn't worry about it.

You got the car checked out when you bought it, right?

Sorry for the delay.

I ordered the car from Florida and I received it here in the Caribbean, so I don't know if it was checked out. It's very special here, no need of any technical check, just registration papers to get the local papers...
However, it is very nice and in perfect state, even if i haven't found this check engine light (only the engine service soon light).
Thanks again.

Default Check engine light

The 99 and up for mustangs do not have a check engine light they only have the Service Engine soon light. They phased these out a while about for EEC purposes.
