Default 3.7L burning/using oil

I have a 2012 v6 with just over 25k miles. When accelerating hard I notice a burning oil smell. Also I noticed that the oil seems low when I check it every 3000 miles. Putting 2 and 2 together equals its burning it?? Why is my bran new car burning oil like this? Seems to be the norm with all newer stangs?? 5.0 and 3.7. The info I gathered from ford is that as long as it doesn't use more than 1qt per 1000 miles its ok. That's crazy talk! Only a ragged out motor should do that! Not a BRAN NEW ONE!!!

sorry bro you are wrong...1qt every 1000 is not unusual for many cars, esp with modern hp engines..Infiniti, BMWs, etc are known to burn oil, it's from the lightweight pistons and rings...
And yeah, check it everytime you fill up

Not to sure weather it's rite or wrong but definitely CRAZY! This is my 3rd mustang and I've built/rebuilt more motors than most normal folks have seen in there life time! Im thinking its more to do with how high the compression is an how light the oil is?? I'd hate to se what my intake and plugs look like?!?! Why should I have to check the oil every time I fill up when ford says it doesn't need changed but every 10k miles?

It's about 1qt low at 3k miles. The harder I drive it the lower it is.

Is it turbo and is it passing oil through the turbo?

changing it and checking it are two different events...it's your car you'll be the one dealing with the blown engine if the oil gets too low...you gonna walk into the dealer and show them the "owner's manual" on that? Not
1qt every 3000 miles is paltry use...it does burn up and evaporate no matter what, so be smart and check your oil...everyone else here does

I agree. But burning "some" oil is quite common in all newer cars.
