ok on my 97 3.8 mustang the head gasket has blown. so when i check the oil its milky. i had someone call me with a motor to a firebird, 3.8, with 100,000ish miles for $300. my question is will it mount up to my car?
Try searching car-part.com for salvage yards in your area. I suspect that you will be able to find a Ford V6 that will fit into your Mustang without drama for about the same $$.
The deal does not seem like a deal IMO.

i thought about doing that but im in orlando and i believe most places like that will be 30+ miles away if not more, and the motor is coming out of a thunderbird
nope...apples and oranges, a used Ford 3.8 is not hard to find

News flash. A Firebird and Thunderbird are not the same cars!
A V6 from a Ford Thunderbird will likely fit into your Mustang. Same for the Mercury Cougar. Especially if very near the same model year.
Note, if the Ford V6 is from a 2000+ or higher, then issues such as external/internal balance and intake changes come into play. Stay close to the model year of the original car.
