Default Squeaky Clutch Pedal

2000 Mustang, with about 86K miles on it. My clutch pedal has developed a high pitched squeak. It's audibile from both inside the passenger cabin and outside the car. Any ideas on what I can do to isolate the problem?

Really? It sounds like a pedal problem.

When you put your foot under the pedal and pull towards you a little does it stop? If so its the same problem I have with mine.

I can pull back a little bit, so it doesn't stop. I guess the adjuster mechanism's okay.

when you step on the pedal, the noise goes away right?

not time for a new clutch yet, you only have 86,000 miles. it's the throwout bearing. it's continously making contact with the pressure plate because the cable is out of adj. just pull on the pedal with a little effort and then push it all the way down to adj. it. if that doesn't work, that means the quadrant will not adj any more. then you have to buy and after market quadrant and adjustable cable. it's alot cheaper than replacing the clutch (which you don't have to, at least not yet).
