Default 2000 mustang v6 wont crank/start!!! help plz

Hello everyone im new here .

I just bought a 2000 mustang and was working fine an all until i parked when do my errands and came back and now it wouldnt start.

It does absolutely nothing.. here are the details

Put key in put on ignition (3) and all lights come on... the theft light turns on but then turns off. Radio works headlights everything.
Then i turn the key to turn on the car and nothing.. just a faint one click and thats all nothing else.
So i thought it was the battery or starter, took them to get it check and both are working.
Check the relay fuses and they seem ok not blown or anything.
check the ground cable and its on tight.
check the fuel pump switch and its ok..
im running out of ideas

what else can it be ?? I hope its not the pcm, how can you check if its not working ?

Well i would have said it is the starter or the battery terminals just need to be cleaned. But you checked that already.
So i would think it might be an alarm kill feature? Does it have an aftermarket alarm?

Also- just try removing the battery terminals and cleaning them with a wire brush. then spray it with that red or purple battery post spray that keeps it from corroding. A dirty battery terminal will test good on a battery tester, but fail to provide adequate amps to starter.

And if the starter is failing, hitting it with a hammer will get it to work for a day or 2. I had a bad starter once and tapped it with a hammer for 2 weeks when i failed to work, until i got it replaced.

does it have spark and does the fuel pump run for a sec. when you first turn on the key? run a scan on the codes also.

Check that your battery cables aren't corroded. also look into a starter solenoid. they don't cost much and they can cause hell if overlooked. It can also be a safety neutral switch. If your car is automatic, try putting the car in neutral and turn the key.

So I'm going to catch mad hell for this one, but if it works it works.

The "old school" aka monsterously irresponsible but sure fire way to check the starter/a one time start to get it home to tinker with is. . . . . Grab your jumper cables latch the clamp on to the starter bolt/wire (big one held on with a hex nut) put the car in neutral turn the key to run. Then you touch the other end of the cable to the positive battery terminal and Viola you bypassed you wiring harness and can start the car. If it doesn't even crank like this its a bad starter. If it does you have a problem in your ignition system. IE ignition switch/ fuse/ grounding out of the harness at some point/ Solenoid
