Default 17s or 18s?

I am going to be getting some new rims for my mustang soon and i cannot make my mind up. are 18s too big for stock brakes? will I lose much power? will they rub the fenders? how easy are 18s to damage, gravel, curbs, big bumps, compared to 17s. As far as 17s go are they too small to be cool? this is the type of rim I am getting http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/59/58502/wt3pd.jpg that one is the 18in version. money is not much of a matter.

It's not the brakes, it's the power those will suck out of your car. If you're worried about brake clearance, it's 15" wheels that'll cause you problems.

They'll suck the torque right out of the car...

the larger the wheel and the smaller the tire, the more susceptible it'll be to damage.

I kinda thought the bigger the rims were the cooler your ride was.
