Default Urgent help on Window problem

I have a 2002 Mustang Convertible.

Only one of my window will not roll up. I hear a click but no motor sound. I am not very car savy at this point. Does each window has separate motors? If that's the case, is it possible that the window that's not working has a toasted motor? Where is the motor located for me to check?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i had that problem in a 96 ranger.. it wasnt the motor.. it was something with the switch having a bad connection. if i just kept hitting it (hard but not enough to break it) it would work. good luck..

No, it does not seem to be the switch. It could be a bad connection ! But I would first like to know how to get to the motor.

the window might have fallen out of its track and the fram rail the motor uses to push the window up is hitting the bottom of the window but putting it know where. Take your door panel off by pull two plastic retainers out on the inside of the door jam. Next lift up on the entire door from the inside to seperate that from the shell. Once you do this you can get to the switches and see if the door has fallen off its tracks. Also I had the same problem and posted pictures on my website. www.svr-racing.com go to tech info, and then window repair 2005.

Either the window is just off the track or your window motor is
toast and needs replacing.

check out the regulator 1st. I had mine serviced 3x before I started a heated discussion with the shop manager when he wanted to replace the motor (AGAIN) after the warranty period was over.

works like a charm, now.

Well, I took the panel off and found that the motor is inside the door shell ! How the heck do you get the motor out of there if you have to?!

Anyway, in my case, I saw a white plastic thing bolted on by three bolts. It is right beside the speaker. Is that the regulator? When I unscrewed the bolts, it slid down on me ! And I had a hard time putting it back on ! Anyway, after about 15 - 20 min, I was able to put it back on and bolted it up ! Almost gave up on the thing and take it to dealer. But this time, when I hit the switch, the window started going up and down !! I don't know what I did, but sure would like to understand ! Especially, how to get the motor out from inside the door shell if I have to replace or inspect it sometime.
