Default Power steering pulley

Excuse my French, but how the $##@@$^&**+ does a person remove the pulley from the power steering pump??? Yes, I am trying to use a power steering pump pulley puller! Truthfully, it was MUCH easier pulling the harmonic balancer off my GT last week. What does Ford do, weld the blessed thing on? As you can tell I am VERY frustrated. I do not know how to get the thing off! It wouldn't be so bad, but the car I am trying to fix is a two hour one way trip and I took off work Sunday to go up and fix the water pump. I am trying to make sure the puller would work using my 97 ragtop as a test. HELP. And why the blank doesn't Ford drill a hole in the pulley so a person can unbolt the bracket???

You're kidding right???
I always fugg it up when I install it... Once I broke the bolt inside the hole, so the next time I had to buy another pump!! ahahahahahah

just clamp around the lip of the center of the pulley and use the bolt to push in and it'll pull the pulley out.
huh?? made sense??

Check out http://www.autobarn.net/xxx7005.html but don't buy it, Autozone, Oreilly have the kits you can rent to pull them. In the pic the crome looking piece comes apart to expose to halves that fit around the pulley nose, then use the stud to work it off, pretty tight, Plastic I think. It's all a friction fit. To put the pulley on most pumps have the bolt, nut and washer to push it back on. Looks like some aftermarket type pumps have a wagon wheel pulley. Most of them are chrome type replacememts.

BTW, just when you think you're going to bust something, it'll start to move and begin to come off, you'll have to use the pulley the whole way.

Good Luck,
Rob
