This is a question for the experts. I have found several deals on ebay for the M90 Eaton roots type blower used on the 3.8 Supercoupe thunderbird. I was wondering if I would be able to use this blower on my 2000 V6 mustang. I have had some sources tell me that since the newer stangs have split port heads that it won't work out. Is this true? I plan on beefing up the engine internals, so that I can hold the boost the blower puts out. Any help on this would be appreciated. Also, if this blower won't work, are there any other good blower kits (roots and centrifugal) that will work for the 99 up models? Thanks for any help.

What exactly would need to be done, and what kind of costs would I be looking at overall. I can get the M90 on ebay (just the blower itself) for about three hundred max. I was just wondering what else would need to be done. I really don't know anything about forced induction, so any help is appreciated. Thanks once again, and any prices or advice is needed.

Here is a link to a good website on supercharger basics.
Although they don't get into the Mustang or Thunderbird specifics, there is some really good information all about supercharger basics. Plus, I don't recommend or know anything about the products they sell or what type of people they are.
I highly recommend learning the basics first, then taking a look at what you are considering. The SC units sold on Ebay aren't going to go anywhere soon.
I am curious about doing this as well, so I will be doing some research in the next day or so.
Thanks a lot for your help. The main reason I was checking into this was because I was told it would work for the 94-98 Models, just not the newer models. Plus the Vortech kit can push upwards of three thousand dollars, where it seems this could be custom fitted for about half that. I will definately check out the site, and please let me know of any information you happen to find on this. Once again, thanks.

The complete engine is your best solution. by swapping the whole engine you can avoid the custom work. the engine will bolt in. the whole process is way easier on the 94-98 mustangs because of the return style fuel system. wiring is also easier. but you should be ok if you use the stock wiring in any car.94-98 or 99+. but if it is being used in a 99+ v-6 stang you will have to modify the fuel rail. you will have to take the T-bird fuel rail. and remove the return line. i am not sure, if it has been done before.. i have seen it done in a 94-98 stang with with 2 problems. the only two major problems were with the plumbing for the inter cooler. and getting it to run smoothly.you should get a dyno tune after the swap that way they can help you with getting it to run properley.. it is highly recommeded that you use your stangs wiring. not the t-birds.
What if I swap out the heads as well? would that make a difference? There is a deal on ebay now for 600 that gives you the blower, heads , and intercooler plumbing? I would just rather go with a roots blower instead of a centrifugal. They are just nicer in my opinion.

Thanks for the help. I just figured it would be easier to get the Thunderbird heads and port them, then the blower should work. I was also thinking about upgrading the fuel rail if I could. I just want a high performance car. Now that the blower issue is out of the way, I was going to get opinions on transmissions. How hard is it swapping from an auto to a five speed, as far as cost and difficulty. Would it be worth it if the money was available or should I just get a shift kit?

I actually just bought a eaton m90. I havent installed it since i bought it a few days ago. But there may be some need to fabricate. i had bought mine off of craigslist, so all i can say is keep looking and your bound to find one
Survey said? Almost a 6 year old thread..... Congrats on taking the time to look through them.
Bad news: There is only a kit for an Eaton M112 out there. The M90's will not work unless you pour wads of cash into it. Supersixmotorsports.com has the M112 kit, but it's expensive and takes awhile to get.......

lol on the 6 years..
the M112 is actually not that bad..you can get the blower Throttle body and inlet for around 500 on ebay depending on how long you wait for the deal, and the adaptor on SSX is 900...other than that injectors and MAF around 200....thats a little more than 1500 for the whole setup minus labor unless you do it yourself..
