Question Turbo Charger question

I was debating on putting a turbo in the 2001 V6 but was told If I did, it was wise to change some things. I already got a cold air intake, and I was told the stock parts may not take to a turbo charger very well. My question is would it still be safe if I did not change anything? I do not want to harm the engine because I will be trading it in for an upgrade to new V8 or semi new Cobra in a few months. Therefore, I do not want to change alot so I can bring it back to the dealer the way he sold it to me. So, is it worth my while?

A turbo requires significant investment in the fuel system. Pump, injectors, computer, etc.

So I guess I'm better off to wait for the trade in. I don't want to fool around with it too much. Plus, I don't drag hardly at all. Just when I get punks in thier sewing machines who think their car is fast because of the aluminum fin and the cherry bomb fart box they put on. Plus, I like the feel of the 8 cylinder. For now I am just trying to do cheap tricks to add a little hp. I already have a cold air intake on it. Any other suggestions for bumping up hp a little at 0 or low cost without decreasing the value and life of the car? Thanks.

What's low cost?

If it's under $200 - pick up a set of underdriver pulleys from RPM outlet.com and a GT Takeoff exhaust with reducers.

I'm puzzled -you're willing to spend 5-7000 dollars on a turbo system, but not the fuel system?

ahhh... he's got a new car, he's just thinking out loud about what he would like to do, not what he can realisticly do.

Well, it isn't new. I had it since new, but was toying with the idea of a turbo. Then common sense took over (doesn't happen often) and realised that if I want a faster car, I'll just go get one. But also, I can pick up a turbo for a fair price and can sell it when done. But you are correct, that is still alot to spend if I am going to trade it in soon. Just wanted to know if it was worth my while. Thanks guys.
