Default fuse keeps going bad

I have a 96 mustang v6 engine which I just had a new engine put into the car. Then my a/c was working and started to blow hot air. The mechanic replaced the blown fuse and recharged the freeon and it worked great for about 5 miles and started blowing hot air again. So I turned off the a/c and waited over night before returning to the mechanic. He put in another fuse and it blew immediately. The electric fan is working and will only kick on when the temperature gauge goes to the half way point between hot and cold. The fan, however, won't turn on when we turn on the a/c like it is suppose to. Why is the fuse continuously blowing out on me and what can I replace to stop this problem? Thanks. Cindy

tell the mechanic to check the ground on the A/C and make sure that it IS grounded and that the wires are correct, if not, that would be a short.

Thanks so much Lee. I am going first thing in the morning. I am reading the Hanes manual now. I really like figuring out how to fix these mechanical issues. Thanks again. Cindy
