Default How to change Door Lock Actuator

How do you change out passenger side door lock actuator. I have gotten a replacement but I do not know how to get the old one out and new one in. Does anyone have instructions to do this? Thanks,

On that type of work, I usually go to the dealership and ask for a blow up of the assembly diagram.

If you dont want to mess with it... take it to a car alarm place...they will be able to do it, it should cost $20 or so.... they have the tools to do it...

Default Door lock actuator

I have already taken mine off of a 2003 GT on the passenger side with ease. On the engine side of the door is a pop out plug and then you just lift up on the door panel to left off the inside cover of the door. With your window rolled up, there are 3 screws at the end of the door at the door latch. Loosen these three screws and the actuator comes off in your hand. There are 2 plugs inside the door panel that unplugs from the actuator and then reverse the order. The hardest part was getting the screws started again in the actuator.

Where did you find your replacement actuator? I am trying not to pay an arm and a leg at the dealer.

You'll have to take out the door handle bezel and the arm-rest bezel on the door (the part that holds your window and door switches.) It's not bad once you actually get it off. just look for the actuator on the inside of the door and unscrew it as mentioned above. Good luck and have fun!
