Default 96 Computer Problem

96 Mustang 3.8L w/86,000 miles. Check engine light on with OBDII of 1151 and 1174. Mass air flow sensor changed. Now the problem, the car was sending info to the shop's computer. When accelerating the motor, the computer would take almost a minute to indicate an RPM acceleration. The computer was hooked up to another Ford and performed as it was suppossed to, only had a delay on my Mustang. The engine accelerated with no hesitation, but the computer lagged behind instead of showing instant RPM increase. Any help would be greatly accepted. The mechanic has since cried "uncle".

You're going to have to translate the codes. What do they say is wrong with the car?

Might need to clean the MAF. Could take care of both.

The MAF sensor has been replaced and the 1151 code keeps coming up and I'm not 100% sure of the other code. I will take it to Autozone and get both codes and repost. Keep the ideas coming.

Just ran the OBDII scanner on the 96 Mustang. Here they are: P0174, P1151, P0171, P0150. The MAF has been changed just the other day and these are the codes still showing up. HELP!!

1151 indicates MAF. You may have a bad connection at the MAF, a bad wire, or a short.

Need translations for the rest.

The 1151 code is now gone, but 0171 & 0174 show up.

What is the best way to check O2 sensors? If they need to be replaced, are the 2 sensors before the catalytic converter interchangable with one another and vise versa for the ones after the cc?
