Question Ford 9" Rear End Help

I'm looking at some ford 9" rearends to put into my 1997 3.9L stang.
I cannot find any info on the proper length of the rearend for the replacement. They also list mustang years. Does anyone see the right type below. Or would any of these work. Some are listed as w/ leaf spring pads.

They have these listed.
56" housing 1970-1977 Mustang
55 3/4" housing 1972 Mustang
54" housing 79-92 Mustang
54" 1/2" housing 68-69 stang
52 3/4" housing 65-67 stang
52 1/4" housing 65-67 stang

"Should never have gotten into this ford 9", now my wife say's I do not pay any attention to her rear end"

you're going to need to go custom if you want a 9".

It would be cheaper to go with an 8.8"

unless your really pushing high HP in the 3.8 anything more than an 8.8 is just overkill

Default it's lookng that way

Everything I look at has a direct effect on something else. I like your et. times. On your 98 V6. 11 to 12's would be a fun area. Right now I need a map, I do not know which way to go.

It would be easier if someone would just say "here just do this."

Yesterday I talked to a good friend about what I would like to do to the bottom end. He says good god don't just buy the short block. Then screw around from there. What a buzz killer.

Just hang out for a while, and run through the 6 section. You'll have a pretty good idea of what you want to do after a while.

which short block?

Default which short block

At this point I guess try to use mine since I cannot find any around this small town.

Mine is a 1997 3.8L runs good. has 105,000 miles on it, I have never beat on it. I was gonna bore it .30 over and I have found a 4.2L crank.

But I've read go 99+ due to a stronger block, only block I can find is at the ford dealer 1200.00 for 3.8L or 1500 for 4.2L. Our salvage yards just seem to just sell running motors around 750.00, but then I'm concerned about it being strong. It could be worse than mine in reality. Seattle is around a 3 hour drive, but after the expense of going up there I might as well just spend the extra cash at the dealer.

First goal is to find a block 3.8L or 4.2L & Bore it.
2nd I have a found 4.2L crank
3rd will be to figure out which size & type of bearings to get
4th figure out some good rods and proper sizes
5th which pistons and proper size.

After thats built, it will be a new chapter.

They've all got the conversion parts, and different piston/rod combos.
